Review of HCigar VT inbox DNA75. Squonk for every day
In today’s review, I will tell you about a box mod from the Chinese company HCigar – VT inbox 75W on the DNA75 board.
Not long ago, I talked about squonks, which are becoming more and more popular today. Perhaps due to the real demand for such devices, perhaps due to the high number of offers that have appeared on the market. Be that as it may, among the existing devices, the subject of today’s review can be especially distinguished – HCigar VT inbox on the DNA75 board, which first appeared almost a year ago, but is still being produced by the Chinese manufacturer. And today it has a good chance of demand and interest from users.
Packaging and equipment of HCigar VT inbox
The packaging of the new version has changed a little (and this is the box that came out this year, but it is no different from last year’s): the cardboard sleeve has disappeared, the box comes sealed in polyethylene, on the lid there is a logo with the name of the device and the note Squonk Mod, in the right corner the color and the version of the equipment are indicated, in my case it is one black squonk mod, i.e. without a dripper. aspire vape Although, as you can see in the photo, there is a place for an atomizer inside and on the back side the kit is indicated with VT inbox maze V1.1 BF RDA. In addition to the possible equipment, the main characteristics of the mod, details and links to the manufacturer, a number of icons and certificates are listed, and there is also a sticker with a verification code for originality.

HCigar VT inbox squonk mod
Micro USB cable
User manual (in English)
Warranty card
Spare jar with stopper
What pleased me most was the thick white USB cable and spare jar with silicone stopper in a separate box. The English manual explains in detail how to work with the mod, it’s just a pity that there is no Russian. Otherwise, everything is standard for HCigar box mods.
The HCigar VT inbox mod is a classic single-battery adjustable squonk with a side window for the jar. The device looks strict, laconic, thanks to the rough coating of the frame and light weight it fits perfectly in the hand. There are no sharp corners or edges on the body, the feeling of using it is purely positive. In shape, to be honest, it reminds me most of my favorite Hotcig R150, but its dimensions are slightly different: the squonk is a little lower and wider.

Color options for the HCigar VT inbox mod
The box was initially released only in a silver case with black “carbon fiber” panels, then a black version of the frame appeared, as in this review, later two more were added: red and conditionally yellow. Conditionally, because part of the motley pattern of the covers was transferred to the aluminum frame of the case.
You can buy replacement panels for any color variant of the mod to your taste, to slightly change the appearance and customize the device. I managed to find six options in the GearBest store, there are no problems with them, unlike the above-mentioned Hotcig R150, for which it is still quite difficult to find covers.
The connector of the box mod is offset from the front edge, naturally, it assumes the use of squonk drippers, for which there is a hole for supplying liquid inside the positive pin. Both the negative thread and the central pin are made of stainless steel, the positive contact is spring-loaded, and very tightly. The connector pad is attached to the case with two Allen screws, the diameter of the visible part is only 20 mm. The width of the mod itself (without panels) is 25 mm, but the flat pad before rounding is only 22 mm wide, atoms larger than this size will protrude slightly. Although with ∅24 mm this is almost unnoticeable.
There are holes at the bottom for ventilation of the board, next to it there is a metal insert with a deep engraving of the name of the device, which dirt likes to get stuck in.
To open the lid, there is a small protrusion at the bottom, by lifting it the panel can be easily removed, and the right panel can be opened simply by holding the window. The lids are held on by tiny magnets, the connection is very weak: the panels are loose (albeit a little) in all directions, after pressing on the jar, the lid sometimes remains on your finger.
Battery compartment HCigar VT inbox
The battery compartment is combined with the landing place for the jar, you need to be careful when handling the mod so as not to flood the battery. However, the connection with the container is hermetically sealed, so the main thing is not to let the drops of liquid remaining on the dropper flow into the battery compartment, it is enough to prepare a napkin in advance and put it under the tube. The electronics are separated by a plastic protection, although it does have ventilation holes through which liquid can get onto the board in case of a leak.
There is a clear polarity marking inside the battery compartment, the upper contact is spring-loaded, the lower one is fixed, the battery is held inside perfectly and does not dangle when shaken. The manufacturer did not provide a ribbon, and suggests that we remove the battery by removing the second panel – there is a small hole under it, in which the battery is visible. The battery can also be simply shaken out or hooked from below, there are recesses left here. The jar inside is also held very confidently, there is a small step inside, to which you need to lift the filled bottle. The dropper on the metal tube goes inside the case, a spare piece, unfortunately, is not provided in the kit.
The complete jar is made of silicone, it is very soft, it is very easy and pleasant to press, at the same time there are no problems with installation and refilling. The bottle holds more than the stated 8 ml (this is slightly above the third ring), but you definitely shouldn’t fill it more, so as not to accidentally fill the entire contents of the mod when installing it. The kit includes another jar with a silicone stopper, you can carry a filled spare with you. Again, on GearBest and in other stores you can easily buy jars for HCigar VT inbox in reserve.
Impressions and conclusions
Spare jar with a stopper for the HCigar VT inbox squonkOf course, like any device, the HCigar VT inbox is not without its shortcomings, which I mentioned above. The most critical disadvantage I would call the poor fit of the panels and very small and weak magnets, even their number in the lids and case does not save the situation. But, as a week of experience with the mod shows, in everyday use you stop paying attention to this. I would like to once again mention the poor suitability of the mod for atomizers larger than 22 mm, although here this is rather a far-fetched claim for those who are not going to look out for millimeter gaps between the dripper and the case. I cannot attribute very soft and slightly protruding buttons to the disadvantages, but the device has such a feature, so it is worth keeping in mind for users who may not like it.
Fitting a 24mm atomizer on the HCigar VT inbox Overall, the device left a purely positive impression, both in terms of the operation of the Evolv board, which can still be considered relevant against the background of Chinese developments that are catching up with it, and the overall quality of manufacture and nice appearance both outside and inside. The advantages include the ability to change the appearance of the box mod with panels and their availability (!) on sale from the Chinese. True, they say that they also do not fit very tightly, like the original ones. The box turned out to be quite compact, it is pleasant to hold in your hands, it is convenient and easy to use. It is not that HCigar were ahead of their time by releasing their VT inbox, but the device can safely be called in demand today, with the growing market of squonk mods. With the amendment, of course, that this is a single-battery device and it is of little use for a subohm.
Liked:
Appearance
High-quality assembly (excluding panels)
Evolv DNA75 board
Spare jar with stopper included
Various and affordable replacement panels
Disliked:
Sliding caps and buttons
In my opinion, the HCigar VT inbox DNA75 fully deserves the right to become a squonk mod for everyday use with a small flavor dripper, especially since its price has dropped a little since its release.
