Review of VapeOnly BEAM. Good old MTL “ego”
Today we will talk about another kit for a beginner vaper, this time from the Chinese company VapeOnly – Beam Starter Kit.
Despite the skepticism of experienced vapers towards eGo format electronic cigarettes, this segment is doing quite well and is even developing a little, just remember the recent subject of the review – Exceed D19. It is obvious that the major players in the vaping market are not going to leave this niche to countless nameless Chinese companies. VapeOnly is one of the old manufacturers that specializes in kits for beginners, once on the site there was a review of a pre-release sample of the controversial Aura Mini kit from this company. The reality is that many smokers are not ready to pay a significant amount of money for their first “vape” just because they wanted to try whether ENDS would suit them or not. Those who have long since passed this stage and remember their “egoshki” as something long forgotten, know very well that it is the first impression that determines whether a person will be able to get rid of tobacco, or will join those who, while puffing on another cigarette, will tell stories like: “I tried this crap …” The subject of our review today is exactly such a set, designed for a classic, “cigarette” puff, VapeOnly Beam Starter Kit. Smokers often choose such devices, simply because if they don’t like it, then thanks to the low price, “it’s not a pity to throw it away”.

The kit does not please with its richness; there is only the device itself, replacement evaporators, a short micro USB cable, and a manual in English and Chinese. disposable vape in new zealand Right on the cover of the manual you can see all the possible colors of the kit, or more precisely the battery: blue, pink, silver, golden and black.
The BEAM kit belongs to the classic eGos, both in format (∅14mm), and in its entire appearance, and its device. Of course, since the advent of eGo-C and eGo-T, even this format has been touched by progress, for example, the need to use adapters for charging has disappeared, and constantly leaking cartomizers have turned into good clearomizers and have become easy to maintain.

VapeOnly BEAM Battery VapeOnly BEAM Battery
The BEAM battery has a capacity of only 650mAh corresponding to its format, everything is the same here, as in the ancient eGos, you should not expect miracles. On top is a 510 connector, which has displaced even here the once standard eGo connector. The positive pin is fixed, you need to screw in something non-standard carefully, you can easily overdo it and press the connector. On the back there is a small hole for the release of gases, if something suddenly went wrong with the can.
The device is controlled using a single button with a white backlight, everything is standard: press it and take a drag. The battery is turned on and off by pressing it five times, in addition, after 30 minutes of inactivity, the battery automatically turns off. The indication is extremely simple: while there is a charge, the button backlight glows white, when the battery is discharged, it flashes red 5 times and turns off, no intermediate options are provided. The battery is charged via the micro USB connector located on the opposite side from the button. Do not even think of charging the BEAM via the connector, VapeOnly directly writes in the instructions that the warranty does not apply in case of damage in such cases.

At the top of the BEAM clearomizer there is a standard 510 drip tip, which can easily be replaced with something similar. It is held on two silicone O-rings, not to say that it is secure, but it does not fall out on its own. On the other side there is the same standard 510 connector, the positive contact is fixed, steel, has a good area.
Impressions and conclusions
As simple as the BEAM device is, it has its obvious pros and cons. The advantages definitely include the quality of manufacture and laconic appearance, as well as a nice button. It is pressed tightly enough so that you don’t have to worry about accidentally pressing it; the device will definitely not work when lying on the table. I also liked the care for energy efficiency; the device turns off without work to save the already small battery charge. And yes, this is a classic e-cigarette, with a classic cigarette draw. The disadvantages include the filling cap without any protruding parts; sometimes it is impossible to unscrew it with bare hands. I didn’t like the O-rings under the glass (it tends to fly off the base) and on the drip tip (it “walks” a little in the landing hole). Well, here I will also include the low prevalence of VapeOnly products on the domestic market, and, as a result, the ability to buy replacement evaporators at the nearest vape shop, which tends to zero.
Liked:
Very small and compact set
Tight cigarette draw
Low price
Disliked:
Weak O-rings
Slippery filling cap
Exotic evaporators
If you are looking for a set for a brother/sister/husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend, which you can safely give and not expect anything in return, this is a good choice.
